The journal allows the author(s) to retain copyright without restriction, while granting the journal the necessary rights to publish and distribute the article.
Submitted manuscripts are assumed to contain no proprietary material that is unprotected by a patent or patent application. Responsibility for the technical content of the manuscript and for protecting any proprietary material rests solely with the author(s) and their respective organizations and is not the responsibility of the journal.
- The first and/or corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the manuscript has been seen and approved by all co-authors before submission.
- It is the responsibility of the author(s) to obtain all necessary permissions for the use or reproduction of copyrighted material included in the manuscript before submission.
- The journal allows the author(s) to retain copyright without restriction.
- Authors retain the rights permitted under the journal's publishing and licensing policy.
- Authors may use the submitted version of their article for non-commercial scholarly and academic purposes.
- Once an article has been accepted for publication, authors may post the accepted manuscript on their personal website, departmental website, or institutional repository, subject to the journal's applicable licensing and archiving policy.
- Deposit of the accepted manuscript in repositories other than those listed above, including subject-specific or third-party repositories, may be subject to an embargo period of 12 months after publication, where applicable.
- Authors may use the published article for their own teaching and educational purposes and may provide individual copies to research colleagues, provided that such use is non-commercial and proper acknowledgement of the published source is given.
What are my rights as an author?
Authors should review the copyright and licensing policy applicable to the journal before submission and publication. Under the journal's standard policy, authors retain the following rights:
- To retain copyright in their article without unnecessary restriction.
- To use the submitted manuscript for personal, academic, and non-commercial scholarly purposes.
- To post the accepted manuscript on their personal website, departmental website, or institutional repository in accordance with the journal's archiving policy.
- To use the published article for teaching, presentations, academic activities, and scholarly communication, provided that the published article is appropriately acknowledged.
- To provide individual copies of the article to research colleagues for non-commercial scholarly purposes.
- To reuse portions of the article in future academic works, such as books, reviews, theses, or dissertations, subject to appropriate citation and the applicable publication licence.
